Sunken temple

The brief says…It is the late 1930’s Antarctica, and an international scientific expedition come across a ruined city buried under the mountains and ice. It is very apparent it wasn’t made by human hands.

It needs to be ceremonial/temple space…and is referenced to ‘at the mountains of madness’ by H.P. Lovecraft. It was written in 1936, and is catigorized as cythulhu mythos, a framework of names, places and entities that appear in Lovecrafts earlier science fiction tales. There are currently writers who still use the mythos as an expansion to the original world.
Most mythos stories refer to the ‘great old one’s’, a group of ancient, powerful deities who came from outer space, who once ruled the Earth. Wikipedia says…”They are presently quiescent, having fallen into a death-like sleep at some time in the distant past.[15] The best-known of these beings is Cthulhu, who currently lies “dead [but] dreaming” in the submerged city of R’lyeh somewhere in the southeast Pacific Ocean. One day, “when the stars are right”, the stones of R’lyeh will rise from beneath the sea, and Cthulhu will awaken and wreak havoc on the earth…( The great old ones below…
